You are the one who defines and develops the next generation detectors which enable our customers to resolve for example Parkinson’s desease and are contributing to tackle current scientific challenges .
Your job is to push the technical boundaries within the electron microscope detectors world and develop our future products. You will be part of a high tech multi-disciplinary team.
Just a few job specific activities are:

  • Modeling and testing of suitable materials for electron microscopy detectors
  • Model based validation of electron interactions and its practical evaluation on TEM systems
  • Definition of experiments for detector improvements and its realization
  • Evaluation of electron and light optics for TEM detector use cases
  • Validation of detector specifications and its theoretical calculations

  • A master’s in Electrical Engineering or Physicsor related area, Ph.D. is welcomed.
  • 3-5 years of experience in area of detectors or other high tech devices (design and development).
  • Be passionate to learn and expand her/his understanding of detector principle and underlying physics at a deeper level – both analytical and numerical.
  • Ability to communicate and work in a team.
  • Ability to work full-time, but a special arrangement for part time can be discussed.
  • Up to 20% of travelling.

Advantageous but not required:

  • Experience with electron microscopes, especially TEMs.
  • Mathematical, physical or microelectronics background.
  • General technology overview.
  • Experience with basic image processing.
  • Solid State Physics knowledge is advantage.
  • Ability to program in Python or C++ is advantage.
