The primary focus of the Engineer Operations is to provide technical support in order to enable efficient solutions to problems in the Manufacturing and Supply chain. The position closely interfaces with various ThermoFisher functions to solve complex problems and to ensure that system specifications are met in compliance with ThermoFisher’s requirements for product shipment to customers.
Provide input or participate in NPI projects according to PMP, MDP, MDM process.

What projects will you work on?

  • Provide technical product sustaining support from product release into manufacturing through the end of service.
  • Participate in all operations engineering activities related to electronics and high tension.
  • Provide technical support to the factory, to ensure that ThermoFisher capable of shipping quality products on-time to its customers.
  • Conduct detailed troubleshooting and analysis of system or component level problems that affect reliability, performance, etc. This includes the use of statistical analysis, 7-Step Problem Solving or other established methods.
  • Design changes in electronics documentation and perform tests of first prototypes.
  • Support the supply chain with engineering expertise. This includes the analysis of parts for reliability, manufacturability, vendor qualification support, and supplier technical quality issues.
  • Support Field Service/GTS with product escalations as necessary. May require some on-site support at customers.
  • Perform hands-on assembly, testing, and training of personnel as required during project work (i.e., assembly, test or measurement, troubleshooting).

Who do we look for?

  • For someone with a university degree in electronics or a combination of education and experience that demonstrates the required skills
  • Junior or Senior knowledge of analog to digital techniques, communication interfaces, familiar with EMC techniques.
  • Willingness to work in a high-tech industry manufacturing environment
  • Ability to create technical documentation and engineering reports using common Microsoft Office and Acrobat applications
  • Ability to plan and resolve issues that involve gaining the cooperation of cross-functional, multi-cultural groups and sites without damaging relationships.
  • Must be able to work for an extended period in a clean room environment
  • Must have the ability to obtain a valid passport and travel regionally and internationally as required (up to 25% of working time)
  • Fluent in English and local language (B2 verbal and in writing)
