In Thermo Fisher Scientific Brno, we develop and produce high-tech electron microscopes and spectrometers. Our devices are involved in research of ZIKA virus, HIV, and they also enable mobile phones to get smaller. Our work contributes to making the world healthier, cleaner and safer. We are the biggest production site of electron microscopes worldwide, following a tradition over 70 years long. There are many experts in physics, electronics, software, mechanical engineering and logistics among us.

What projects will you work on?

  • Member of R&D Life Science Mass Spectrometry unit developing some of the most advanced analytical instruments
  • Responsible for requirements analysis, design, development, implementation and unit testing of software
  • Design and develop the next generation of Mass Spectrometry instrumentation software user interfaces using a combination of JavaScript framework, typescript and web components interfacing with C# .Net based backend systems.
  • Implement new user-facing features to Mass Spectrometry software system with cloud connectivity
  • Work with scientists and other software team members to deliver complete and high quality instrument control software applications to schedule and specification
  • Participate in design and code reviews
  • Contribute to maintaining and evolving existing products, as well as to new product development
  • Provide assistance to software test and support, troubleshoot critical issues
  • Provide accurate estimates to complete assigned tasks

Who do we look for?

  • Ideal candidates will have deep and robust experience with Microsoft .NET development for instrument control and data processing software products.
  • Proficient and full command of JavaScript and frameworks such as ReactJS, AngularJS, Vue.js. Good knowledge of HTML5, CSS, JQuery, AJAX, REST, JSON, XML, and integration with backend languages such as C#.
  • Proficient in Visual Studio, C#, .NET, WPF
  • Experience with RESTful APIs and Web Services
  • Strong background in user interfaces
  • Be able to create GUI mockups, work with marketing and design houses to drive effective UI workflows and prototypes.
  • Experience with version control and defect tracking systems.
  • Experience with Agile development process techniques
