The Software Test Engineer will be part of the LSMS Research and Development group. They will be responsible for testing test state-of-the-art mass spectrometry software products particularly focused on the control software for all of the flavors of Mass Spectrometers developed by the group.

What projects will you work on?

  • Review and contribute to User stories, requirements and designs.
  • Write test plans, test designs and test cases, covering functional, life time and reliability tests (including Test to Failure, Hass and HALT tests). Implement automatic tests
  • Contribute to, or organize FMEA’s and SRA’s with a multi-disciplinary, project ascending scope. Assess risks on module and system level.
  • Definition of reliability targets, define reliability budget breakdown.
  • Identify performance parameters to enable data-driven predictive maintenance and troubleshooting.
  • Design, realize and maintain test rigs for various modules.
  • Execute or supervise the execution of manual and automated tests, analyze test results and write clear progress and recommendation reports to the project’s stakeholders.
  • Chase and support problem solving by hardware and software engineers. Finding root cause of failure.
  • Assure proper alignment of entry and exit quality criteria with adjacent projects.
  • Initiate and support product and process quality improvements.

Who do we look for?

  • You have technical Masters or Bachelor’s degree in Mechatronics, Electrotechnics, Mechanical or System Engineering, or Applied Physics.
  • Experience with monitoring and improving product quality in ongoing developments.
  • Thorough understanding of development and test processes, methodologies and standards.
  • Proven experience in verification and validation of mechatronic modules in system level use case context.
  • Experience with reliability testing and the pertaining statistics.
  • Affinity with cryogenic systems.
  • Hands-on approach.
  • Structured way of working.
