What will you do?

  • Develop, test and evaluate new proof of principle and proof of concept algorithms and software procedures necessary for successful operation of experimental setups of electron microscopes or related analytical methods
  • Use image processing and pattern recognition, data analysis, mathematical models and other advanced techniques
  • Interpret data and analyze results systematically
  • Ability to get insight into technologies related to algorithms and SW methods developed - contrast and detection, analytical methods, electron optics
  • Create solutions from initial concept and prototyping to the status of early adopter solution
  • Ability to explain ideas, concepts and present results
  • Test directly on the hardware in collaboration with other members of advanced technology group, getting immediate and direct feedback, contribute to technology roadmaps of adjacent technologies

Who do we look for?

  • Typically requires MSc degree in a technical discipline (PhD in relevant field is an advantage)
  • prox. 2-5 years of experience in relevant field
  • Overall orientation in image and signal processing methods and algorithms
  • Experience with image processing, machine learning or other advanced techniques, experience with related tools like OpenCV or Matlab is an advantage
  • Excellent math skills, combinatorial and analytical abilities
  • Programming skills – preferably C#, C++ or Python
  • Experiences with OpenCL/CUDA and Unix environment is an advantage
  • Ability to implement theoretical ideas and knowledge in praxis; a pragmatic approach
  • An ability to analyze problems and trace them to their core causes, ability to anticipate and diagnose problems
  • Communication skills and drive for improvements
  • English > B2 (communicative level)
  • Eligible for a passport and able to travel
