GLOBAL TECHNICAL SUPPORT SPECIALIST

ENGINEERING, RESEARCH AND DEVELOPMENT

In Thermo Fisher Scientific Brno, we develop and produce high-tech electron microscopes and spectrometers. Our devices are involved in research of ZIKA virus, HIV, and they also enable mobile phones to get smaller. Our work contributes to making the world healthier, cleaner and safer. We are the biggest production site of electron microscopes worldwide, following a tradition over 70 years long. There are many experts in physics, electronics, software, mechanical engineering and logistics among us.

Key responsibilities:

  • Manages tasks and projects in the Technical Support Department in order to improve its efficiency.
  • Provides technical communication between Production, R&D and Technical Support Department.
  • Provides „root cause“ analysis and actively takes part in resolving technical issues.
  • Collects, analyzes and reports data for the purpose of solving problems and improving company’s inner processes.
  • Provide worldwide 3rd line technical support up to system level of TEM products.
  • Postmortem analysis for solved support calls, cooperation on and leading continuous improvement processes.
  • Creates documentation and FRU requests for all type of microscopes and their modules.
  • Seek for opportunities to lower the installation and warranty cost based on collected data and analyses.
  • Leading assigned GTS tasks, e.g. PPI, Service Documentation requests, CAPA, etc.
  • Seek for opportunities to improve product quality.
  • Keeping records about required tests and measurements.
  • Keeping order, cleanness and maintenance of the department area
  • Execution Sarbanes-Oxley directives, procedures and rules

Following the effective documents IMS, EMS and managing documentations

Requirements:

  • At least a bachelor’s degree of Electronics or Mechanics\\Mechatronics or a combination of both education and relevant work experience.
  • Strong communication skills, written and verbal

English written and spoken min. level B2.

  • Willingness to travel (less than 25% of working hours).
  • Ability to work independently as well as to cooperate in a team.
  • Experience in project management.
  • Knowledge and experience in Product Data Management (ECR\\O or NPI) is of an advantage.
  • Proactive and customer-oriented person.

  • Excellent communication ability (both written and verbal) and influencing skills including the ability to communicate complex technical concepts to a variety of audiences is critical to the success in this position.
  • Affinity with software applications and computer hardware.
  • Enthusiastic and outgoing personality.
  • Ability to work independently on multiple tasks.
  • Proven ability to interact with cross-functional and cross-cultural teams.
  • Ability and willingness to travel internationally.
